Church Searching

As with every couple planning to get married or dreaming to get married, searching for THE CHURCH is often a hard decision. Things such as availability, location, even the interior of the church matters. For me and my fiancee; despite living in the little red dot and being in a foreign land, searching for a Church to exchange our vows were not as hard as it seemed and turned out to be quite the adventure and I learned a bit of trivia about each as well.


Church of St. Mary of the Angels
5 Bukit Batok East Avenue 2

An ultra modern church, spacious, unique but slightly far from the city.
The church was designed with the ceremonial space in the center and 
seating on 3 sides so that no seat was too far from the sanctuary.







Blessed Sacrament Church
1 Commonwealth Drive, Singapore 149603

Well known for its iconic slate roof which is constructed in folds in the shape
of a tent to symbolize the "Tent of Meeting"in the Old Testament.
The Main service hall is cross-shaped.






Church of St. Teresa
510 Kampong Bahru Road

Probably the most popular church in Singapore. It is the first rural
Catholic Church and the only one featuring a Roman-Byzantine architecture.


 



Church of the Sacred Heart
111 Tank Road

Built in 1906 and completed in 1910, the Church of the Sacred Heart is
a small French Gothic Style church having a white facade and a beautiful
altar. Located near the city and at the far side of Fort Canning Hill.






St. Joseph's Church
143 Victoria Street

Located within the central area of the central business district. It is a Gothic
style church; structured in the form of a latin cross. This church is most noted for its annual Good Friday procession.





 Church of Saints Peter and Paul
225A Queen Street

A Gothic style church; the facade features the statues of Saint Peter
and Paul.It has a beautiful main entrance and an all white interior with
stained glass windows.










St. Andrews Cathedral
11 St. Andrew's Road

 It is the country's largest cathedral, an Early Gothic style church that stands
out over modern skyscrapers. It is located within the central business district.





The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes
 50 Ophir Road

A Neo-Gothic Style church it was originally built to be a Tamil Catholic church but as of present times it has welcomed Catholics of all races.





 CHJIMES
30 Victoria Street

This complex used to be a Catholic convent with a Gothic style chapel. Currently
the chapel is now a multi purpose hall for various events and the complex is now
a dining and entertainment center.
